Pediatric vaccination is a cornerstone of infection prevention, but challenges with access, trust, and consistency still affect uptake. As a result, addressing disparities and improving communication are both essential to ensuring children are protected from serious, preventable diseases. In this episode, Dr. Alexandria May sits down with Dr. Ruth Carrico to discuss these issues and offer practical strategies to support equitable vaccine delivery. Dr. Carrico is a family nurse practitioner in Louisville, Kentucky, and an Adjunct Professor with the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She's also the senior partner in Carrico and Ramirez PLLC, and has worked in the field of infectious diseases, clinical practice, and research for more than 35 years.
